“When I rewind, replay, all the things that made me. Who I am today. The good and the bad. The good and the bad. When I Rewind….When I Rewind……When I Rewind” ~ Andy Mineo

Greetings beautiful and blessed child of God, where did the month of September go? It’s like I blinked and it disappeared in the whirlwind of all of the busy hustle and bustle that seems to come with the end of the fiscal year and the transition of the seasons from summer to fall.

So what better way to close out the month of September and begin the month of October and the New {Fiscal} Year than with a {RE}CAP on the Highlight of the previous month which was the Church of the Highlands ReCreate Women’s conference. This was my first year attending this conference and I absolutely loved this year’s theme, which was CROWNED.

The following play on words will be used to outline some of my personal take home {RE}FLECTIONS from the conference weekend and what it means to me personally to be CROWNED

{RE}: CROWNED an personal memorandum

/rā,rē/ (preposition)

  1. in the matter of (used typically as the first word in the heading of an official document or to introduce a reference in an official letter).
  2. about; concerning

Concerning being CROWNED by God. In the matter of being Daughters of Zion,  He’s excited about us! He delights in us! We are a precious gem in the palm of His hands and nothing and no one can change that or call us anything different!

“Regarding Zion, I can’t keep my mouth shut,
regarding Jerusalem, I can’t hold my tongue,
Until her righteousness blazes down like the sun
and her salvation flames up like a torch.
Foreign countries will see your righteousness,
   and world leaders your glory.
You’ll get a brand-new name
straight from the mouth of God.
You’ll be a stunning crown in the palm of God’s hand,
a jeweled gold cup held high in the hand of your God.
No more will anyone call you Rejected,
and your country will no more be called Ruined.
You’ll be called Hephzibah (My Delight),
   and your land Beulah (Married),
Because God delights in you
and your land will be like a wedding celebration.”

~ Isaiah 62:1-4 MSG

      1. wind (a tape or film) back to the beginning.
      2. a mechanism for rewinding a tape or film.

In the beginning God created us in His own image. Ponder that for a minute. Rewind the tape back to the beginning and remember who we were fashioned after.

“God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them
       reflecting our nature
So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,
the birds in the air, the cattle,
   And, yes, Earth itself,
and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.”
   God created human beings;
       he created them godlike,
   Reflecting God’s nature.
He created them male and female.
   God blessed them:
“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!
Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air,
for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth.”

~ Genesis 1:26-28 MSG

/rəˈflekt/ verb
1. (of a surface or body) throwback (heat, light, or sound) without absorbing it.
2. think deeply or carefully about.

We were created to reflect our Creator in every aspect of our daily lives.

“But friends, you’re not in the dark, so how could you be taken off guard by any of this? You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. So let’s not sleepwalk through life like those others. Let’s keep our eyes open and be smart. People sleep at night and get drunk at night. But not us! Since we’re creatures of Day, let’s act like it. Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation.”
~ 1 Thessalonians 5:5-8 MSG

1. give new strength or energy to; reinvigorate.
1. an act or function of updating the display on a screen

Yes, because we get weary. We are in need of rest. God promises us that rest, He also promises us new strength for the days ahead.

I’ll restore tired souls.”

/ˌrekəˈlekt/ verb

Call to mind His purposes for our existence. To be His Love Letter here on earth.

/rəˈn(y)o͞o/ verb

  1. resume (an activity) after an interruption.
  2. re-establish (a relationship).

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

~ Romans 12:2 NIV

/ˌrēkrēˈāt/ verb
1. create again.

Lastly, never forget to keep dreaming, and dream again. God is faithful to give us the desires of our heart that align with His will and purpose for our lives. We were all called to create and so be bold ask, seek, knock and create. Nothing is off limits to those who love and belong to God. He who created us will make known to us through the Holy Spirit the gifts and callings we have and how we are to use them for His glory here on Earth.

“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.”

~ Acts 2:17

In His Love,
