“I am Grateful for the things That you have done Yes, I’m grateful for the victories we’ve won I could go on and on and on About you works Because I’m grateful, grateful, so grateful Just to praise you Lord Flowing from my heart Are the issues of my heart It’s gratefulness”
~ Hezekiah Walker

I grew up listening to and even singing this song as a teenager in youth choir. Looking back on then and now, the meaning of the words to me personally have evolved in so many ways.

As a youth being grateful was not something I took as seriously as I do as an adult. Where the melody says “flowing from my heart, are the issues of my heart,” has so much more meaning and value to me and my relationship with God than my 12 year old self could ever understand.

Life brings issues. Living life causes us to experience other people’s issues. Many of which are down right painful.

So when I think of the goodness of God and all that He’s done for me and through me, I can not help but to be grateful. Like the songwriter said, “I can go on and on” about it. So for Day 15’s post for #BlogLikeCrazy #ThankfulThursday,  I am sharing the following list of all that I am grateful for.

While it’s not all inclusive list, but a continuously evolving list and in no particular order, the most important aspects of my life that I am grateful for are noted.

I am grateful for:

  1. Jesus
  2. Prayer
  3. My Family
  4. The body of Christ and Life-giving relationships
  5. Breath in my lungs
  6. Laughter and sadness
  7. Strength and weakness
  8. Joy and pain
  9. Sunshine and Rain
  10. Walks and Runs along the River (or any body of water)

As mentioned earlier, this is not an all exclusive list of what I am grateful for. But at this age and stage in my life these are definitely the most important ones.

Have you pondered all that you are grateful for? Has the most important factors in your life that you are most grateful for changed over time? Leave a comment below. Would love to hear about it.

Until next time….

Write from the Heart,

{Just Being} Candice Maria
